History in LA: Double triple doubles by LJ & Lonzo Ball


In 128-100 victory over the Charlotte Hornets, the Lakers made a remarkable history. James and Ball became the first set of Lakers since Jan. 22, 1982, to earn triple-doubles in the same game.

It had been approximately four decades when the last double triple doubles in the same game by two teammates made in La. On Saturday night James and Ball became the first set of Lakers to do it again.

Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar did it in Jan. 22, 1982.

It had happened only eight times since Vince Carter and Jason Kidd had triple-doubles for the New Jersey Nets in 2007.

"It was a good day," Ball said. "It's history."
